Adoption

How to Adopt a Schipperke

Our process is simple and transparent — designed to ensure every puppy goes to a home where they will thrive.

The Process

Six Simple Steps

From first enquiry to bringing your puppy home — here is what to expect.

1

Get in Touch

Fill out our contact form or email us directly. Tell us about your lifestyle, home, and what you are looking for in a Schipperke companion. There is no obligation at this stage — just conversation.

2

Meet & Match

We will arrange a video call so you can meet us and any available puppies. We take time to understand your needs and match you with the pup whose temperament and energy level suits your household.

3

Reserve Your Puppy

A non-refundable $300 USD / $400 CAD / $400 AUD deposit secures your chosen puppy. You will receive a reservation confirmation and weekly photo/video updates from that moment on.

4

Prepare Your Home

We send you our comprehensive Puppy Prep Guide — covering crate training, puppy-proofing, nutrition, and the first-week routine. We are available by phone and message throughout.

5

Final Vet Check & Paperwork

At 7–8 weeks your puppy receives their final vet health check, first vaccination, microchip and worming treatment. You receive copies of all records and the breeder health guarantee.

6

Go Home!

Puppies are ready to leave at 8 weeks. You can collect in person or we arrange a reputable nanny-flight service. The remaining balance is due before pick-up or shipping.

FAQ

Common Questions

Do you ship puppies internationally?
Yes — we regularly place puppies in the United States, Canada and Australia. We use experienced pet nanny services and fully comply with all import/export regulations. We guide you through every step of the paperwork.
How long is the waiting list?
Typical wait times range from 2 to 6 months depending on availability and your preference for gender and colour. We recommend enquiring as early as possible.
What health testing do the parents undergo?
All breeding dogs are OFA-certified for hips, certified clear for MPS IIIB (a Schipperke-specific storage disease), and have annual eye examinations by a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist.
What is included in the price?
First vaccination, microchip, three rounds of deworming, vet health certificate, puppy pack (food sample, blanket with mum's scent, toy), breeder health guarantee, and lifetime support.
Can I visit the puppies before committing?
We welcome video calls at any time. In-person visits are available for local adopters by appointment once puppies are 4 weeks old. Out-of-state and international buyers primarily use video visits.
Is the deposit refundable?
The reservation deposit is non-refundable but is transferable to a future litter if your circumstances change. The puppy price is refunded in full if a puppy does not pass their final vet health check.
